Where We Stand: Immunizations
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) believes that immunizations are the safest and most cost-effective way of preventing disease, disability, and death. We urge parents to make sure that their children are immunized against dangerous childhood diseases since it is always better to prevent a disease than to have to treat it or live with the consequences of having it.

Chapter Immunization Activities
Partnerships
The North Dakota AAP Chapter (NDAAP) works closely with the state health department on immunization issues.
Legislative
The NDAAP actively advocated for school entry requirements for varicella and hepatitis B vaccines at the state-level for children. They also are supporting legislation regarding the North Dakota Immunization Information System.
State-specific Issues
The NDAAP is working to ensure all children are immunized in accordance with the recommended childhood and adolescent immunization schedule.
